Life after IBS – My Job Offer in London

Josh and Kendall in London

As my last blog post, I have chosen to write about life after IBS. While the trip was nothing short of incredible, the experiences will last a lifetime and continue to influence my choices in the future. I have always loved traveling but IBS allowed me to see the world from a professional viewpoint and got me thinking about my future aspirations.

I have always been infatuated with Europe and after my travels with IBS, I decided that I would love to live in a European city. I figured the time to do it is while I am young and do not have as many restrictions. Most European countries allow abundant vacation time, allowing me to travel in addition to work. I would love to work in PR or advertising upon graduation. However, it would be foolish for me to pack up and go to the complete other side of the world without any idea as to what it would be like to actually live in Europe.

This leads me to Summer 2017. As I am graduating in December of 2017, I figured this summer would be a perfect time to test out what living in Europe would be like. I had never been to London prior to my trip with IBS, but I absolutely loved it. So, I dug around online looking for internships and work placements, applied to a few and eventually scored an interview with a PR firm in London! I was overjoyed, so I got up at 4:30 am (mind the time change) and interviewed via Skype. About a week later, I received a three-month work placement offer, in which I quickly accepted.

I am ecstatic and so looking forward to learning and working in London this summer. I definitely would say that there is no way I would be in this position if it wasn’t for IBS. Traveling and studying abroad with IBS truly opened my eyes to all the opportunities the world has to offer. Europe, or anywhere else for that matter, does not have to be simply a travel destination, it can be a future! I am so grateful for my experience with International Business Seminars and am looking forward to seeing where else it takes me!
